Fall has always been one of my favorite times of year in Middle Tennessee with crisp mornings, golden light, and weekends full of football, festivals, and family fun. When my girls were little, we spent countless weekends exploring pumpkin patches, corn mazes, and all the festive events around town, and those memories still mean the world to me. To celebrate the season, I asked everyone on the Tony Carletello Team to share their favorite local fall traditions. It’s a fun way to introduce the amazing people behind our team while hopefully give you a few fresh ideas for making the most of autumn in our area.
For me, fall is all about bonfires, fall baseball and cheering on my Auburn Tigers! One of my favorite family traditions is visiting S&E Daugherty’s Farmers Market to pick out pumpkins with my family. After carving, we roast the seeds using my grandad’s recipe. A little truffle salt and you’ve got the perfect fall snack. It’s a simple tradition, but it never fails to make the season feel special.
Every year, our family kicks off the season with a trip to Honeysuckle Hill Farm in Springfield. With three boys, it’s the perfect place to let them run wild and burn off some energy. They love the corn maze, jumping pillow, and all the hands-on farm activities. It’s become one of those traditions we all look forward to… a guaranteed day of fall fun.
When people think of fall, they often picture pumpkins and falling leaves, but for me, it’s the perfect time to escape to the coast. My family loves spending Fall Break at Carillon Beach on the Florida Panhandle. The crowds are gone, the Gulf is still warm, and the sunsets are absolutely unforgettable. Whether we’re biking through the charming village, sipping coffee on the porch, or taking long walks along the beach, it’s the most relaxing way to soak up the season.
One of my favorite fall traditions in Nashville is spending a day at Cheekwood Estate & Gardens. The whole property transforms into a fall wonderland with pumpkin villages, a scarecrow trail, and gorgeous seasonal gardens. I love wandering the grounds with a warm drink in hand, taking in the colors and the festive touches everywhere you look. It’s such a joyful way to experience autumn in Nashville.
I love taking my kids to Walden Farm in Smyrna every fall. It’s a bit off the beaten path, but worth the trip for all the kid-friendly activities like the tractor ride scavenger hunt, petting zoo, corn maze, and live music. There’s plenty of great food, too, so it’s easy to spend the whole afternoon there. Watching my kids’ faces light up makes it one of my favorite fall traditions.
Before moving to New Jersey, fall was my absolute favorite season here in Middle Tennessee. Our family loved visiting Keller’s Corny Country in Dickson. It’s packed with fun for kids like a natural playground, ziplining, bounce pad, pumpkin patch, tractor rides and the best Kettle Corn. I also loved sneaking away to Arrington Vineyards for an afternoon of incredible hillside views and live music. It’s co-owned by Kix Brook, half of my favorite country music duo, Brooks and Dunn). We love to pack a picnic, grab a blanket, and spend the afternoon sipping wine.
We hope these ideas spark some new fall traditions for your own family. Whether you’re carving pumpkins, getting lost in a corn maze, or catching a sunset on the coast, this season is about slowing down and savoring the moments that matter. From our team to yours, happy fall!
